Hi, all!

It's Friday!  And a long-anticipated Friday for me, because today is the beginning of vacation!  Whoop whoop whoop!!!  But before I get totally distracted by sunshine, sand and the Gulf of Mexico, let's do a little whooping together.  Ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Meet Adeline!  Adeline was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and her mom wanted a quilt made with t-shirts with notes of encouragement donated by her friends and family.

When she came to me, I agreed to make the quilt for her.  It is an honor to be part of those cheering ...

Make-A-List Monday - Getting Ready For Vacay! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I love Mondays - and especially the Monday of the week before vacation!  It will be a super busy week as I get everything ready, but the anticipation makes it all worth it.

But first, let's see what happened with last week's list....

1.  Finish assembling the t-shirt quilt top.
2.  Quilt and bind the t-shirt quilt.
Done!  I'll be delivering the quilt tomorrow, just in time for the little girl's treatments which begin Friday morning.  I'll share more pictures on Friday with a bit of the story...

3.  Divvy up the thank you ...

Make-A-List Monday - Where Did My Week Go? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

How did it get to be Monday already?  Last week went by so quickly, and I really don't feel like I got much done at all.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Quilt high school ministry quilts (at least two).
I didn't get to this one, as I realized I had a rapidly approaching deadline on the golf memory quilt...

2.  Work on the third set of blocks for the Me Sew Happy quilt.
This one got put to the side, too.

3.  Finish cutting out the blocks for the golf ...

Quilting Off and On from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've been standing at the long arm quite a bit the last few days. I've completed the quilting on this four-block wallhanging and it's OFF the rails. Yesterday I loaded ON the first of the two T-shirt quilts.I chose a large, open meander pattern for the allover quilting design on these. It went quickly and I was very pleased with the results. It came OFF the rails this morning, it's all trimmed up

Life is Good, Times Two! from From the Strawberry Patch...

Many of you have probably made a T-shirt quilt or two. Not me. A friend from church asked me late last fall if I would make a quilt from his wife's T-shirts as a tangible memory of her. We all loved Judy at church; she passed away almost two years ago after an awful battle with ALS. "Sure" I said, immediately without hesitating; he indicated that he had all of the shirts bundled up together and

It's been a week filled with finishes, near-finishes, beginnings, and ongoing results.  First, a near-finish...

This t-shirt quilt top is finished and just waiting for the backing to arrive!

Our new shower door was finally installed!  We've been trying to do this since the end of December, and after a multitude of problems, it's finally done.  Now at least I don't have ...

Guess what, y'all?  It's Friday again!  And we all know what that means - - - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  So let's get started....

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

This week I ignored the beautiful spring weather we had and holed up in my studio to work one of the t-shirt commission quilts... and it paid off!

The top is finished!  And once again, with Lilli's help laying it out and charting it out on graph paper, it went together like a dream.  It's square, straight, and came together with a minimum of fuss ...

Make-A-List Monday - What A Difference a Week Makes! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

What a difference a week makes!  Last Monday we were iced in, soon to be followed by a mess of snow that kept us inside until Saturday.  It certainly made for a lot of sewing (and jigsaw-puzzling) time!  But today there's just a little bit of ice left in the shady spots, which deserves a huge whoop whoop!  I did enjoy the extra sewing time, and binge-watched my way through about half of the Marvel universe, in order.  I think I've watched the first fourteen movies so far.  FYI, Disney+ has a great feature which places ...

Make-A-List Monday - Iced In! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

What is it about bad weather, I mean the kind that keeps you inside because the roads aren't safe, that makes you really crave a pizza?  I may have to drag out the yeast and make some pizza dough tomorrow and see what I can find to put on one soon!  Thankfully, I have a granddaughter who thinks that pepperoni is a food group, so we always have that on hand, and mozzarella is my friend, so it's always in stock too.  We didn't get the promised snow today, but we did have a whale ...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

A little over a week ago, I met with a woman who needed a t-shirt quilt made for her daughter.  She had 45 t-shirts, and she wanted as many as possible used in her quilt.  And she needed it all by 2/19!  I had some memory quilts to finish up, and got those finished ...

I May Have A Scrap Problem... Drowning In T-Shirts? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, I spent the day working on a t-shirt quilt and making one. big. pile. of t-shirt scraps.  Now, you know me and fabric scraps - I just can't bear to throw away usable fabric!   And I'm happy to say that I have a great solution for those t-shirt backs that I want to share with you today.  Because to save them without a purpose would be crazy, wouldn't it?  I posted this originally in 2018 but thought it would be a good time to bring it back for a re-run, since it is t-shirt quilt ...
